Aga Khan Agency Bolsters Gilgit-Baltistan Disaster Response: 150 Winterized Tents Donated to GBDMA

GILGIT (PR) – In a significant move to enhance disaster response capabilities, the Aga Khan Agency for Habitat Pakistan (AKAHP) has handed over 150 winterized tents to the Gilgit-Baltistan Disaster Management Authority (GBDMA).
The tents were officially presented during a handover ceremony held at the GBDMA headquarters, attended by key representatives from both organizations.
The winterized tents, categorized as Non-Food Items (NFIs), are a vital addition to the resources of GBDMA, aimed at strengthening its preparedness and response mechanisms for disasters in the region. The handover ceremony witnessed the presence of the Director General GBDMA Safdar Khan, Regional Program Manager (RPM) of AKAH GB Ejaz Karim along with other senior officials.
Expressing gratitude for the support extended by AKAH, the Director-General of GBDMA Safdar Khan underscored the importance of collaboration between government and private institutions in effectively addressing the challenges posed by natural disasters.
